Well, the first few months have been kind of hectic. I can’t believe that I’m almost halfway to the baby’s birth! It took the first five months to stop feeling sick, settle in to a different type of clothing, and adjust my schedule to my energy level.
Thank God I married the right man! Oliver has been soooo amazing during this time. He’s accompanied me to every doctor’s appointment, and made be feel pretty (even more so than when I’m not pregnant). Oliver, if you’re reading this I’m still waiting for that cupcake J
We go to our ultrasound appointment next week. I am so excited to find out the sex of the baby. I’m also anxious to hear if the baby is okay.
I bought this cute little teddy for the baby yesterday, it was so soft and the money was donated to charity so I thought why not. Other than that, I read that the baby’s can now hear, so I’m still waiting for those mixed CD’s from my friends! My friend Alex says that I should take a photo of my pregnant self for prosperity sake, so stay tuned for photos J

I never got to finish the baby blog, as I often say now that I’m a mom “life got in the way”. Being Pregnant was very hard on my body. At different points during the pregnancy I was on bed rest, had gestational diabetes, and eventually an emergency C-section due to preeclampsia. However, Layla and I are doing well now and it was all worth it.

On April 3rd, 2007 I went to a routine doctor’s appointment. I actually wasn’t even going to go because I had such a bad cold. When I got to the doctors office their was protein in my urine and my blood pressure was really high. The doctor made me go straight to the hospital. Our bags were not even packed!

Then, on the morning of April 4th my doctor broke my water and gave me potossin to start my labor. Oliver says that I can’t write anything mean, so I’ll skip the bad parts. Let’s just say after 14 hours of labor and an epidural, I was rushed into the emergency room and put under sedation for an emergency c-section.

Oliver was still waiting for the nurses to bring him into the operating room when they handed him a Baby Girl! Thank goodness we took all of those baby classes! After five days in the hospital I was released from the hospital (in the care of a home health nurse)… and we became a family
