Am I a Bridezilla?  Well, as much as I’d like to say “NO”, maybe it’s more of a yes J

This week we took our engagement photos, and filmed Our Love Story.  The whole session almost didn’t happen, due to my poor planning.  However, Oliver pulled it off and we made it happen.  I love this guy!  I remember thinking while taking the photos, “this is really happening” and “wow, this is what I always wanted”.  Yes, some girls want to grow up and be doctors, I wanted a family.  take a look at www.pictage.com

Another exciting development was that we sent out our Save The Dates, and “officially” announced our website.  This site is going to be our family site, my cousin Vince has one and it is so cute!  He has photos of his daughter on his site, along with funny stories about the cute things that she did that week.

Well, this week I took three days off from work to plan my wedding.  I was starting to get a bit worried because it’s four month until the wedding and I didn’t have a dress, color scheme, cake, invitations music, flowers…not to mention any other little details.  I started with a schedule because that’s the only way that I could figure out how I was going to get this done in three days (and a weekend J)

The planning party started on Saturday.  I woke up saying “I’m going to get a dress today, I’m going to get a dress today”, and was dancing around the house.  My mom and I headed off to Coral Way (The street in Miami with about 100 dress stores).  The first place we went was a big chain wedding dress store…let’s just say I was not feeling the vibe.  However, on my way to that store I took a double take at this wedding dress that caught my eye in the window.

This cute little boutique, Coral Gables Bridal was our next stop.  It was the first dress that I tried on; I looked at myself in the mirror and started crying.  I know, how corny and embarrassing!  I could not help it there is something about a wedding dress, I never thought that I could look like that, it transformed me into a classic, beautiful, delicate bride.  However, I told the little old spanish ladies that I could not just by the first dress that I tried on, in the first half hour, and that lunch was required to give it some time and see if I came to me senses. My mom and I called my sister for a second opinion; she took one look at me in the dress and started crying.  My mom said that she has never seen my sister cry…sold.   The sight of this dress is so beautiful that it leaves the person with no choice but to break down emotionally.  My mom said she started crying when she saw the price J

The next big decision was the invitations.  Yes, I cried at this one also.  It was at the point when the lady was reading the wording Julie and Oliver… you’ll see.  Now it’s real.  The week went on with lots of planning discussion and decisions.

Our last appointment was with the florist, Pearl, she own a shop around the corner from us called The Blond Tulip.  Oliver has been sending me flowers from Pearl ever since we started dating.  She sent them when we got into a fight (and I sent them back); she’s sent them on birthday and valentines days, and on our engagement night.  I have never met Pearl until this week, and now I want to be Pearl.  She is this slender, blond, happy, real person.  I’m so glad that she’s agreed to continue to be part of the Oliver and Julie love story!  Who knows, after the wedding she could be sending me flowers after my first baby J

Last week my bridesmaids and I all meet up in San Francisco for my Bachlorette/Girls weekend.  We had so much fun!  It was so nice to be able to hang out with the gals and just relax.  We shopped, drank, did the tourist stuff, and the main event- Napa!  I also got to meet Colleen’s boyfriend V, who is so sweet.  On the trip Oliver called me to tell me that he accepted a job in Sarasota, so I guess we’re moving… two months before the wedding!  I better get moving

Yes, you read right.  It’s three months before our wedding and we’re moving.  Luckily, movers will come to pack us up and move us.  It’s going to be a busy few weeks.  Next weekend Oliver’s brother is getting married in Tampa and we’re going to look at apartments in Sarasota.  The weekend after that is My 10 year high school reunion, my shower, and Oliver is moving to Sarasota.  A lot is happening so fast, I’ve had to put wedding planning on hold again.

The photo above is from our Girls weekend in Napa and San Fran, look at how cute we look!  Lisa took this photo after we had a picnic on the grass and were recovering from a perfect afternoon of fresh Napa air, sunshine, and of course wine tasting.

In June, my sister threw me an amazing shower, the day after my ten-year high school reunion.  What a day!  Tracy had every detail down to the tee.  The cake even looked like the invitation, and the wine glasses had little rings tied on them.  The best part was that she had everyone write down words of marital advise and made a beautiful book.

It meant so much to me to have everyone come.  I really felt loved.  I am so blessed to have such a strong group of caring, supportive, amazing women in my life.

This weekend my aunt Sue and my Grandma are throwing me a shower in Orlando, I can’t wait to see everyone!
